The Golf Club at Red Rock was named 2007 Amundson Family Best Junior Program Award for Best Junior Program in South Dakota.
PGA Professional, Jason Young is a 3 time recipient of the Amundson Family Best Junior Program award. Jason’s dedication and devotion to junior golf is directly reflected in the quality of the junior program at Red Rock. Red Rock’s junior program provides kids an opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of golf in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Jason has created a program that promotes interaction among the juniors, instructors, and parents through participation in clinics, on-course play, special events, and competition.
The program is open to kids ages 6 to 16. All aspects of the game are covered. Instruction days are conducted Tuesday mornings and supervised play days occur on Thursdays. Every junior golfer receives the opportunity to have a private 1 on 1 lesson with Jason Young. In addition to learning the fundamentals, the kids are taught etiquette, patience, respect and good sportsmanship. All junior golfers learn the rules of Red Rock and how to abide by them.
The ultimate goal of the Red Rock junior program is to develop junior golfers with character that play the game of golf and understand the values of integrity, sportsmanship, and respect.

Jason Young, PGA Professional
A Class-A PGA Professional, Jason is originally from Pierre, S.D. Jason played college golf at Northern State University, graduating in 1993 where he was a 3-time All-Conference player. Jason currently serves as the Head Golf Professional at Red Rock and is also the Golf Professional Advisor to the South Dakota Golf Association. Jason has been a 3-time recipient of the Amundson Family Best Junior Golf Program in South Dakota. Jason and his wife Krista have three children: Mac, Natalie and John.
Teaching Philosophy
For over 15 years Jason has instructed golfers of all skill levels and ages. Jason takes great pride in his ability to match his teaching methods to compliment your ability and learning style. While offering unique and valuable instruction to all golfers, Jason is confident in his ability to communicate effectively with every level of player.
Jason’s teaching philosophy is based on:
- Developing a strong set-up foundation for their swing by focusing on grip, stance, posture, alignment, and balance
- Developing a swing for each individual student that fits their needs and abilities.
- Identifying each individual’s goals and formulating a “Game Plan” a student can use to help achieve those goals.
- Utilizing the JC Digital Video teaching system.
Jason offers instruction in all facets of the game to golfers of all ages and abilities. Golfers have the opportunity to choose from individual or group lessons.
Lifelong involvement and dedication to the game of golf and his constant devotion to improve has earned Jason a reputation as one of the most sought after instructors in South Dakota.
